FRIED ORIENTAL SHRIMP NUGGETS WITH HOT MUSTARD SAUCE

 

This is a delish recipe for Oriental shrimp nuggets that is packed with flavor and so easy to make. The hot mustard sauce really amplifies the whole flavor profile of this dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Shrimp cooked and chopped
  • 1/4 cup Jerusalem Artichokes
  • 1/4 cup Scallions chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ginger Root grated and peeled
  • 1 Egg beaten
  • Cornstarch for dusting
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Mix together all ingredients. Use heaping teaspoon of mixture to make 16-20 balls and dust lightly with cornstarch. Place nuggets on wax paper and refrigerate for atleast an hour.

    Heat 1/2 inch of oil in a small skillet to 375 degrees F. Drop shrimp nuggets one by one into hot oil and brown lightly. Drain excess oil by rolling lightly on paper towels. Serve immediately with a bowl of the Hot Mustard Sauce.(recipe below)

Recipe Notes

HOT MUSTARD RECIPE

1/4 DRY MUSTARD POWDER

2 TEASPOONS VINEGAR

1/4 CUP OF BOILING WATER

INSTRUCTIONS:

COMBINE MUSTARD AND VINEGAR. GRADUALLY STIR IN WATER.ALLOW TO STAND AT ROOM TEMPERATURE FOR ATLEAST 15 MINUTES BEFORE SERVING.
